Joint Pain

Chronic Joint Pain

Shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, elbow, wrist/hand, or SI joint—we help you find the cause of your pain and get back to what you love with a plan that fits your goals.

Joint Pain Conditions
  • Stiff in the morning, loosening as the day goes on

  • Sharp twinges with certain movements (stairs, reaching, twisting)

  • Swelling, warmth, or a “click/catch” feeling

  • A joint that “gives way” or feels unstable

  • Pain after activity—or, more rarely, aching at night

  • Wear-and-tear changes (osteoarthritis)

  • Irritated tissues around the joint (tendons, bursae, ligaments)

  • Cartilage/labrum/meniscus issues that cause catching or locking

  • Sacroiliac (SI) joint dysfunction causing low back/buttock pain

  • Inflammatory conditions (rheumatoid, psoriatic, gout/CPPD)

  • Less commonly: infection or referred pain from the spine

We focus on identifying the specific pain generator (the exact structure causing pain), not just the area that hurts.

  • Focused exam that maps pain to structure and motion

  • X-ray for bone/joint space; ultrasound for tendons/bursae; MRI when it changes next steps

  • Targeted diagnostic injections (numbing medicine) when needed to confirm the source

  • Labs when an inflammatory or crystal arthritis is suspected

Joint Pain Conditions We Treat

Rotator Cuff Tear

Shoulder pain/weakness with reaching or sleep. Rehab-first; imaging-guided options if needed.

Osteoarthritis

Wear-and-tear stiffness and ache. Movement therapy, medications, and targeted injections.

Sacroiliac (SI) Joint Pain

Low back/buttock pain near the dimples. Confirm by exam; relieve with guided care.

Arthritis

Inflammatory flares (rheumatoid, psoriatic, gout). Diagnosis plus medications and procedures to calm joints.

Meniscus Tear

Knee catching, swelling, or locking after a twist. PT-first, escalate only if needed.

Bursitis
